Tides to Canals reimagines the residential block as a resilient, adaptable framework that accommodates a spectrum of living arrangements, anticipating the evolving challenges of coastal life. The proposal revolves around a multiphase plan that implements sustainable infrastructure in the short term. These less disruptive adaptations inform the design of the block as climatic conditions worsen and renovation becomes unavoidable, while also offering practical, low-impact strategies to improve existing homes on the site, ensuring current residents maintain a high quality of life with minimal disruption. Housing within the block becomes a mosaic of approaches to living, tailored to the needs of residents and informed by changing climatic conditions.
